H.E, President Salva Kiir Mayardit has sworn in, Dier Tong Ngor as the incoming Governor of the Bank of South Sudan. The swearing in ceremony was administered by Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut in the Office of the President this morning on Wednesday.
Addressing the officials shortly after the swearing in ceremony, H.E, President Salva Kiir Mayardit appealed to the incoming Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Dier Tong Ngor to work hard with his colleagues from the banking system and the concerned institutions to stabilize the market price.
H.E, President Salva Kiir said, it is upon all of us to work collectively as a team to recover the economy that has been affected by the external factors. In addition, H.E, President Salva Kiir has appealed to Honorable Governor Dier Tong Ngor to always consult with his colleagues and concerned institutions for advice on how to address the issues that he cannot solve on his own.
In his remarks, Hon. Dier Tong Ngor emphasized that, he will work closely with the Office of the President, Financial Institutions and all the stakeholders to ensure that the Bank of South Sudan plays its primary role to stabilize the market price. Dier Tong added that, he has worked for decades in the bank and the only way he can serve the people of South Sudan is, by providing his services into the banking system.
The Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Daniel Kech Pouch appreciated H.E, President Salva Kiir Mayardit for his decision to re-appoint Dier Tong Ngor as the new Governor of the Bank of South Sudan.
H.E, President Salva Kiir appointed Hon. Dier Tong Ngor as the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan on 2nd November 2020 replacing Gamal Abdalla Wani. Hon. Dier Tong Ngor had worked previously as the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan
